Reuse with Drupal Features

Drupal Features module provides incredibly powerful site building functionality through the promise of ease of reuse. In this discussion we will be using some standard contrib modules (Views, CCK) to build out some example functionality and then exploring how features can help reuse and configuration export. This gives some deep insight into how we can solve data and configuration separation, possible solutions for different server environments (dev, stage, prod - type setup), and easy(er) ways to tie into version control systems (VCS, like git, svn, CVS).
